Our research

The Working Time Unit (WTU) at the Autonomy Institute is committed to pioneering research and conversation that pushes the boundaries of work as we know it, offering real solutions for the forward-thinking workplace.

WTU Research Network

The WTU Research Network is a space to explore, expand, and advance ideas that transform the workplace. Through our research and engagements, we’re deepening our knowledge on how the four-day week and reduced working time can impact people, workplaces, and society. We use that insight to support the organisations we are working with, and to contribute to the growing conversation on the transformative potential of the shorter working week.

Our Research Network brings together academics, practitioners, organisations, and individuals who are passionate about transforming the world of work. Whether you want to contribute your own insights, collaborate on a project, or stay in the loop with what we’re working on - we’d love to hear from you.

Shorter Working Weeks

To read our research on shorter working weeks, visit our website or check out one of our reports below.

Whether you’re already trialling a shorter working week, want to explore working time reduction for your organisation, need support to design the right model, or are just interested in finding out more, we’d love to hear from you.

We also provide a range of other services helping to create happier, healthier, and more sustainable working environments - including job redesign, working culture programmes, and performance management design.
